hello

I have a toshiba m45 s169 laptop windows xp home edition

I need help in cleaning my system w/ various infections. I was unfortunate enough to get the antivirus xp malware nuisance many people are having troubles with. From searching several online help forums I ended up downloading Malwarebytes . This is what if found the first time I ran it ( on full scan):

Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1.26

C:\WINDOWS\system32\phcrkkj0erbr.bmp (Trojan.FakeAlert) -> Quarantined and deleted successfully.

Then I ran this program about four times after the initial scan ( quick and full scan twice) - it found nothing .
I also used ATF cleaner and CCleaner, iodefrag and deleted many files ( movies, pics, and even utorrent).
I did this mostly in safe mode because I had troubles going into normal mode, but I believe I also did a couple of scans in normal mode too ( don't exactly remember).

I also ran superantispyware free edition and this is what it found: notharmful blue screen saver- C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\BLPHCRKKJ0ERBR.SCR. It is under quarantine.

Then I ran resident AVG antivirus:
9/7---- adware Generic3.LLF - C:\Documents
Trojan Horse Dropper.Bravix.A - C:\ Windows\temp
9/9----- Trojan Horse Dropper.Small.IH- C:\System Volume Information\_restore{5B686006-38BC-4DB1-AFED744EDC32}\RP15\A0022593.dll

9/11 and 9/12 ------- Trojan Horse Dropper Bravix. A ( 4 times) in C:\system volume info

when I tried to press "heal" option, avg said it could do it. At this point my desktop screen was still blue. I couldn't get my desktop wallpaper and screen saver back.

After this, I did a Kaspersky online scan and this is what it found.

update: I cannot locate the infected files listed by kaspersky in my directory. Can anyone tell me how to find these files so I can delete them? I clicked "show hidden options- it stops at internet files.. after that there is nothing else. thanks! Will post malware bytes later.

Wait until Malware Bytes has finished doing its thang, then burn the Avira Antivir Rescue system to a CD (maybe on a clean computer if it doesn't work on yours), leave it in the drive and restart (it should boot automaticly, if not you'll have to edit the Boot Sequence in the BIOS)... Set a scan going and watch your malware be destroyed...
You can download it here:
