I have an Alienware 9700 laptop, and I was having trouble with the hard drives. They replaced one, and had me take it off a RAID setup. So now I have two 150g drives. Well the second drive(non OS drive) went corupt, and I formated it, and now its working again....do you guys think I should trust it to put files on it? Any Ideas?

Ever Since this has all started, the laptop has been getting really hot, and shutting off at random...and...when I look in the processes, my CPU usage is maxed out....any idea how to fix this?

Most all major manufacturers will have a diagnostic tool at their web sight that you can download and burn to a CD which you will boot from to test the hdd. This will show if you have any problems with the drive itself.

Were all of the files on the hdd corrupted?

What would happen when you try to access them?

Family and loved ones will always be a priority in my daily life.  You never know when one will leave you.

For the heat issues, get a can of compressed air and stick the nozzle in the vent and blow the lint/dust out of it.
Does Task Manager show which processes are the culprit(s)

why won't my laptop work?

Having grandkids is God's way of giving you a 2nd chance because you were too busy working your butt off the 1st time around

It said "Drive D is not accessable"

And yea, all the files were corupt, it was all my music that was on there, and it was all gone. It was actually clicking to before it stopped working. Then lats night, i decided to try and format it, and it worked, and is opening, and allowing me to save things on it again, but im just concerned if its going to die again, if I should trust that it is working.

I have tired to the canned Air, and it didnt really work. Last night I ran defraggler and now my computer seems to be running ALOT better.....ill have to moniter it and see if it starts getting hot again.

My computer seems to be running so much slower then it should. I am running windows XP Media Center, with 2gs of Ram, and two 160g HDs...it seems insane that it would be so slow.

If you heard a clicking noise, I wouldn't waste any time backing up your music
