Based on your HijackThis log, I have written up these instructions. Please let me know if anything is unclear or if you run into any problems. Things aren't too bad -- hopefully we'll get you cleaned up in a couple posts...

I. Please Move HijackThis! To A Permanent Folder

When you installed HijackThis, it installed to a temporary folder. Creating a permanent folder will ensure that HijackThis is not accidentally deleted when we clean out these directories.

1. Click on "My Computer -> C:". Under the File menu, please click "New -> Folder"
2. Rename the new folder (for example, type "HJT" without the quotes) and move the HijackThis.exe file into the new directory.

II. Add/Remove Programs

I see a couple entries for ErrorGuard in your HijackThis log. This spyware scanner has either a history of poor performance or may contain spyware with its installation. It is strongly suggested that you uninstall this spyware product.

To do so, please click "Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs"
Find the entry for ErrorGuard and left-click on it once.
Click "Change/Remove" (to the right) to uninstall the program.

III. Please Launch HijackThis and place a check mark next to the following items that still exist:

R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Search_URL = http://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customize/...//www.yahoo.com
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant =
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchURL,(Default) = http://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customize/...//www.yahoo.com
R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page =
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {99FB686D-BE44-8597-67A0-7753B7448B1E} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\coiixob.dll
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {F2A4407B-FFBC-4A1F-A18A-0F68C3E0FC9E} - (no file)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {FDD3B846-8D59-4ffb-8758-209B6AD74ACC} - (no file)

These next four items are all optional fixes in HijackThis. They contain items that are either not needed or may use up unnecessary amounts of resources. Fixing them will only prevent them from running at startup and can be run manually if needed.

These three items are installed with the software for Logitech products. Automatically checks for software upgrades AND new products, services and special offerings from Logitech.
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [LDM] C:\Program Files\Desktop Messenger\8876480\Program\backWeb-8876480.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [LDM] C:\Program Files\Desktop Messenger\8876480\Program\BackWeb-8876480.exe
O4 - Global Startup: Logitech Desktop Messenger.lnk = C:\Program Files\Desktop Messenger\8876480\Program\LDMConf.exe

This is a registration reminder for one of several various products. This is definitely not needed.
O4 - Startup: PowerReg Scheduler.exe

Finally, as mentioned above, ErrorGuard is a Spyware scanner of a dubious nature. It either has a poor scanning history or may actually introduce certain types of spyware. It is strongly suggested you remove these entries.
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ErrorGuard] C:\Program Files\ErrorGuard\ErrorGuard.Exe
O16 - DPF: {205FF73B-CA67-11D5-99DD-444553540006} (CInstall Class) - http://www.errorguard.com/installation/Install.cab

Please close all open windows except for HijackThis and then click "Fix Checked".

Hi Travis419. I don't know where jboz is but I'll jump in here. There are still a couple of items to fix up so plese do the following.

Important
Your copy of HijackThis needs to be in a folder of it's own. If it is run from Temporary folders the backups and HijackThis itself could be accidentally deleted if the Temporary folders are cleaned. If it is run from the desktop then the backup files and folders can clutter up the desktop and be accidentally deleted. If it is run from inside a compressed file then the backups are not created at all.
  • Please open My Computer
  • Double-click on Local Disk (C:)
  • Click on the File menu, point to New and then click on Folder. Name the folder 'HijackThis' or 'HJT'.
  • Unzip to or copy and paste HijackThis.exe to the new folder.
Start HijackThis and click the Scan button to perform a scan. Look for the following items and click in the checkbox in front of each item to select it:O2 - BHO: (no name) - {F2A4407B-FFBC-4A1F-A18A-0F68C3E0FC9E} - (no file)
O16 - DPF: {6B4788E2-BAE8-11D2-A1B4-00400512739B} (PWMediaSendControl Class) - http://216.249.24.143/code/PWActiveXImgCtl.CAB

Now close ALL open windows except HijackThis and click the Fix Checked button to finish the repair.

That's it! Reboot your computer normally, start HijackThis and perform a new scan. Use the Add Reply button to post your new log file back here along with details of any problems you encountered performing the above steps and I will review it when it comes in.

OT
I do not respond to PM's requesting help. That's what the forums are here for. Please use them so that others may benefit from your questions and the responses you receive.

Hi Travis419. It appears that you are still running HijackThis directly out of the compressed file. It has not been unzipped to its own folder so there are no backups available. If you need to post Hijackthis logs in the future please make sure that you follow the steps to unzip it and run it from it's own folder.

That being said, your log is clean. We have a couple of last steps to perform and then you're all set.

First, let's reset your hidden/system files and folders. System files are hidden for a reason and we don't want to have them openly available and susceptible to accidental deletion.* Click Start.
* Open My Computer.
* Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
* Select the View tab.
* Under the Hidden files and folders heading UNSELECT Show hidden files and folders.
* CHECK the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
* Click Yes to confirm.
* Click OK.
Next, let's clean your restore points and set a new one:

Reset and Re-enable your System Restore to remove infected files that have been backed up by Windows. The files in System Restore are protected to prevent any programs from changing those files. This is the only way to clean these files: (You will lose all previous restore points which are likely to be infected)1. Turn off System Restore.On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.
2. Restart your computer.

3. Turn ON System Restore.On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
UN-Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.
[/list]System Restore will now be active again.

Now that you are clean, to help protect your computer in the future I recommend that you get the following free programs:
  • SpywareBlaster to help prevent spyware from installing in the first place.
  • SpywareGuard to catch and block spyware before it can execute.
  • IESpy-Ad to block access to malicious websites so you cannot be redirected to them from an infected site or email.
You should also have a good firewall and a good antivirus application like the ones you are currently using. It is critical to have both a firewall and antivirus to protect your system and to keep them updated.

To keep your operating system up to date visit monthly. And to keep your system clean run these free malware scanners
weekly, and be aware of what emails you open and websites you visit.

To learn more about how to protect yourself while on the internet read this article by Tony Klien: So how did I get infected in the first place?

Have a safe and happy computing day!

Hey Travis419. Yes, I would go ahead and delete any files found during a scan that the scanner cannot either disinfect or remove. As for the games, I would try reinstalling them and see if they perform better. There could be some settings that were changed with the infection. If they are downloaded games then you might want to be careful because that is a prime spot for infections to come from in the first place.

Cheers.
