Hi,

I had some serious problems with a changed windows desktop background, with permanent „Antivirus XP 2008 licence agreement“-Agree-and-Install-questions, misleading google links, disappeared Screensaver-Tabs, slow or broken internet connection to specific software-security related websites, various different virus-alerts in sophos and a very slow computer…

After manuel system changes, Sophos-Antivirus, Ad-Aware, Spybot S&D, Malwarebytes and Trendmicro-online-check I think I got rid of most of the malware.

The Security Software as well as two automated online HiJackThis-Log-Check-Sites make me believe my computer might be clean.

Do you agree or do you think I had a backdoor or trojan that just hid itself very good? Is it possible to get a system really clean again or should I reinstall the system? Can i still go online with this computer or do you think it’s unsafe?

I’d be really thankfull for a little check !!!

best,
Murphy

Upon completing the steps below a staff member will review and take the steps necessary with you to get your machine back in working order clean and free of malware.

Thanks and again sorry for the delay.
  • Download random's system information tool (RSIT) by random/random from here and save it to your desktop.
  • Double click on RSIT.exe to run RSIT.
Note: If you are using Windows Vista, right click at RSIT.exe and select 'Run as administrator'.

  • Click Continue at the disclaimer screen.
  • Once it has finished, two logs will open. Please post the contents of both log.txt (<<will be maximized) and info.txt (<<will be minimized)
Next
Please do a scan with Kaspersky Online Scanner

  • This will start the program and scan your system.
  • The scan will take a while, so be patient and let it run.
  • Once the scan is complete, click on View scan report
  • Now, click on the Save Report as button.
  • Save the file to your desktop.
  • Copy and paste that information in your next post.
In your next reply please post back with the following reports:
  • RSIT log.txt
  • RSIT info.txt
  • Kaspersky report
*NOTE: Please do not post reports in Code or Quote, it makes them harder for reading.
