Boot up is normal. Once I put my password in it take upwards of a minute for my desktop icons to show. I have removed a non-working network drive that it was searching for with no addtl benefit. I have ran chkdsk, defrag and a couple of other small tips found on the net. I use Avast AV and have limited my startup items to as little as possible. Any other suggestions?

Hi .

My only comment is that I don't think a minute is overly long from boot to icons.

Try to disable some of your start up programs, some of your programs may be trying to access the internet which can cause a slow down in your desktop appearing.
