 My husband got a Hp all in one printer, scanner, copier. I can't get the scanner to work. I keep getting an error message that says to make sure the scanner is connected properly and try again. I have tried to pull the picture from the scanner in 3 different photo programs and it only reads my web cam. My huband got it from an auction, still in the box, but with no instructions.

You can also use your photo memory cards on the printer and that works. I just can't get the scanner to read.

Thanks for the information. I have been reading and still can't figure out the problem. It may just be that the scanner doesn't work.

You don't mention whether you got any software with the scanner. You need to install the drivers and software to use the product, and they are available from HP by downlaod. Rather than using your other photo program software, you should be able to use HP's software to scan, copy, etc.

I had to download the software from HP in order to get it to work. It did not come with any software. I downloaded from HP and I have HP photo and imaging too. I can download from a memory card and pull the images up on hp photo. Every thing on the printer works but scanning.
