What exactly is NoScript? Does it slow down Firefox? Is it important?

NoScript is an extension that prevents Javascripts from running unless you allow them. You can create a whitelist for allowed sites. This prevents a LOT of bad junk on websites from functioning. I find it invaluable and do not browse without it. In my experience, it doesn't slow down Firefox at all. In fact, it may even speed it up because less junk is loading.

You can read more about the extension here: http://noscript.net/

Amen.
NoScript and AdBlock Plus are two extensions no FireFox user
should be without.

Actually I just thought I'd put my 2cents into this one

NoScript is something you want to be using for extra security during your browsing experience. It basically blocks all code (Java, Silverlight and the others it offers to block) on that page unless you allow it.

AdBlockPlus on the other hand is pretty much the same thing as NoScript but it's coded differently. AdBlockPlus is designed to block ads - Not every single bit of code on the page.

Either one you choose, it's good to have atleats one of those :flowers:

Oh and no, it doesn't slow down Firefox :trumpet:
