Hi muneer,

Can you describe the problem more thoroughly?

From what you said I assume you are running Windows ME.

The ME logo should dissappear just before your desktop is displayed. Are you saying the icons move to the righthand side of the desktop, or the desktop is not displayed, or the whole diplay moves off to the righthand side of the monitor?

Any details you can tell us about your computer would be helpful also.

Try this- double click on My Computer. at the top of the window, open 'Tools' and select 'Folder Options...'. this will open a menu window.

on the first tab (General), at the second item(Web View) select "Use Windows classic folders". click Apply, then OK.

Misplacement of folder icons can be a symptom of malware in Windows 2000, I'm not sure if this applies to ME.

Please follow the standard scanning procedure:
Is your Anti-virus program current and updated? If not you can download a free anti-virus program here (US Link): AVG Free
When you have downloaded and installed it you need to go online to register it and update it. (It will probably prompt you to do this.)
Once you have installed AVG uninstall your old Anti-Virus software.

Do you have any anti-spyware installed? If not download and update all of the following:Reboot your computer in Safe Mode and run the anti-virus scan and anti-spyware scans there.
If you are not sure how to boot in Safe Mode there is a tutorial here: Safe Mode

Let us know if that has corrected the problem

Hi Muneer. even if you remove the file that infected your PC with redlof, you have not fixed the damage. try to follow these instructions from Symantec to edit your registry and reverse the damage. VBS.redlof certainly could be causing this behavior

back up your registry first! follow the instructions EXACTLY. good luck.

I am using ME and played with the auto arrange ONCE !

Try dis-abling the auto-arrange and see if this hurts, helps, or makes no difference !
