Xp Reinstall Disk Overused

hi my reinstall disc has been used so much its saying its not authentic now that i have used it so many times to reinstall.
the problem i have i now dont have a genuine copy of xp on my pc i bought the disc when i bought the comp a few years ago and the lady i bought it from has moved away so i dont know were she originaly bought it from any ideas on how i can get a new key number for the disk

The key number does not reside on the disk - but on a label. If the label is worn out, I'd have to suggest contacting Microsoft to see about a replacement (I don't know how receptive they'll be tho')

To find the key that's installed on your system, you can use this free utility: http://www.gtopala.com/index.html
Scroll down to the Licenses section and the key'll be located there.
My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.

The activation screen should provide a toll-free number that you can call from your location.
First it'll try to activate you using the telephone, if it doesn't work then you'll get to speak to a person.
They'll ask you some questions to ensure the validity of your request, then will instruct you on how to validate.
