I have no Idea what to look for my problem started out with an annoying pop-up that I fixed but it keeps coming back... it is the one that says "warning! potential spyware operation!" messages every few minutes. I know it is a trojan but I can't get rid of it because the computer now freezes when ever I try to do anything if I am not in safe mode... and the only thing my scanner will do in safe mode is quarantine them. Thank You

Hi

1. Download SDFix and save it to your Desktop.

http://downloads.andymanchesta.com/RemovalTools/SDFix.exe

2. Double click SDFix.exe and it will extract the files to %systemdrive%
(Drive that contains the Windows Directory, typically C:\SDFix)

3. Reboot into Safe Mode`:-

Reboot into >>>safe mode

4. Open the extracted SDFix folder and double click RunThis.bat to start the script.
Type Y to begin the cleanup process.

It will remove any Trojan Services and Registry Entries that it finds then prompt you to press any key to Reboot.
Press any Key and it will restart the PC.

When the PC restarts the Fixtool will run again and complete the removal process then display Finished, press any key to end the script and load your desktop icons.

Once the desktop icons load the SDFix report will open on screen and also save into the SDFix folder as Report.txt
(Report.txt will also be copied to Clipboard ready for posting back on the forum).

Finally paste the contents of the Report.txt back on the forum.

Thank You very much for your help. I am not sure if this has anything to do with what is being shown but the Internet browser no longer works. the internet is connected and programs that connect/ update and run off the internet like the scanner and IM work just not the browser.
Again, Thank You

Hi

I can't see anything in the SDfix log which would suggest it had anything to do with breaking your internet.. when you say browser, do you mean Internet explorer, firefox, or another browser ?

If it's IE... try this ...

Right click the taskbar > Task manager > in the task manager window, click the FILE tab > new task (run)

type iexplore & click OK > does an internet explorer window open ? does it work ?

Both Internet explorer and Firefox open but say 'Can no display page' (in Internet explorer's case) or 'Connection interrupted' ( in the case of Firefox). It might have to do with the computer's other problem... But thank you for your help. The scan did fix some of it's problem. ^-^
