Today, I updated SUPERantispyware to 4.21.1004 and rebooted the comp. Right after i installed the latest version, i decided to do a full SAS scan. After the scan was about 30 minutes complete, my computer monitor went blank and was not the result of a screensaver(i had moved my mouse moments before). I tried moving the mouse, pressing keys, opening the task manager with shortcuts and more. The screen would not return. I had to do a manual shutdown by holding down the laptop button. After booting the laptop back up, the screen was still fine. Could this be a problem with my hardware? Perhaps a problem with my SAS configuration? Or is it something possibly dangerous? My computer also started to take a while to shutdown since about 2 months ago. This happened after i installed comodo firewall pro. About a week ago, i upgraded my laptops ram from 1 gig to 2.5gigs. The computer seemed to agree with it. However, the shutdown speed hasnt improved. What could be the problem with this? I am in a bit of panic right now because i have not encountered the blank screen problem for the 3 years ive owned my laptop. I am going to run an MBAM scan right now. Please tell me the possible reasons why the blank screen occured. I will also post a similar topic in the HJT log forum. Thanks in advance BP BleepingComputer!
