Hello Paracitefluke and welcome to the BC forums. After reviewing your log I see a few items that require our attention. Please proceed with the following steps in order.

Step #1

First we need to take care of a trojan named Peper which has infected your system. Please follow these steps to download and run a special repair tool and then we will run a standard battery of scans with other tools.
  • Please Download PeperFix.exe.
  • Reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following:
    • Restart the computer.
    • As soon as BIOS is loaded begin tapping the F8 key until the Advanced Options/b] menu appears.
    • Use the arrow keys to select the Safe Mode menu item
    • Press Enter.
  • Start the tool and click Find and Fix.
  • Reboot to finish removing what it found (again, boot to Safe Mode).
  • Run the tool a second time.
  • Reboot to finish removing the entries.
Step #2

Run On-line virus scans

Please run at least 2 of the following on-line virus scans:Trend Micro Housecall
BitDefender On-Line Virus Scan
Panda ActiveScan
Make sure that you choose "fix" or "clean".

Step #3

Run On-line trojan scan.

Click on the link below and follow the directions on the webpage to run an online trojan scan:WindowSecurity online trojan scan
Step #4

Run Spybot Search & Destroy

Download, install, update and run a scan with Spybot S&D:
  • Download and Install Spybot Search & Destroy, accepting the Default Settings.
  • In the Menu Bar at the top of the Spybot window you will see 'Mode'. Make certain that 'default mode' has a check mark beside it.
  • Close ALL windows except Spybot S&D
  • Click the button to ‘Search for Updates’ and then download and install all available Updates.
  • Next click the button ‘Check for Problems’
  • When Spybot is complete, it will be showing ‘RED’ entries bold 'Black' entries and ‘GREEN’ entries in the window.
  • Make certain there is a check mark beside all of the RED entries ONLY.
  • Choose ‘Fix Selected Problems’ and allow Spybot to fix the RED entries.
  • REBOOT to complete the scan and clear memory.
Step #5

Run AdAware SE

Download, install, update, configure and run a scan with Ad-aware SE:
  • Download and Install AdAware SE Personal, keeping the default options. However, some of the settings will need to be changed before your first scan.
  • Close ALL windows except Ad-Aware SE.
  • Click on the‘world’ icon at the top right of the Ad-Aware SE window and let AdAware SE update the reference list for the adware and malware.
  • Once the update is finished click on the ‘Gear’ icon (second from the left at the top of the window) to access the preferences/settings window:
    • In the ‘General’ window make sure the following are selected in green:
      • Under Safety:
        • Automatically save log-file
      • Automatically quarantine objects prior to removal
      • Safe Mode (always request confirmation)
    • Under Definitions:
      • Prompt to update outdated definitions - set the number of days
  • Click on the ‘Scanning’ button on the left and select in green:
    • Under Driver, Folders & Files:
      • Scan Within Archives
    • Under Select drives & folders to scan:
      • choose all hard drives
    • Under Memory & Registry: all green
      • Scan Active Processes
      • Scan Registry
      • Deep Scan Registry
      • Scan my IE favorites for banned URL’s
      • Scan my Hosts file
  • Click on the ‘Advanced’ button on the left and select in green:
    • Under Shell Integration:
      • Move deleted files to recycle bin
    • Under Logfile Detail Level: all green
      • include addtional object information
      • DESELECT - include negligible objects information
      • include environment information
    • Under Alternate Data Streams:
      • Don't log streams smaller than 0 bytes
      • Don't log ADS with the following names: CA_INOCULATEIT
  • Click the ‘Tweak’ button and select in green:
    • Under ‘Scanning Engine’:
      • Unload recognized processes during scanning
      • Scan registry for all users instead of current user only
    • Under ‘Cleaning Engine’:
      • Let Windows remove files in use at next reboot
    • Under Log Files:
      • Include basic Ad-aware SE settings in logfile
      • Include additional Ad-aware SE settings in logfile
      • Please do not check: Include Module list in logfile
  • Click on ‘Proceed’ to save the settings.
  • Click ‘Start’
  • Choose 'Perform Full System Scan'
  • DESELECT "Search for negligible risk entries", as negligible risk entries (MRU's) are not considered to be a threat.
  • Click ‘Next’ and Ad-Aware SE will scan your hard drive(s) with the options you have selected and clean automatically.
  • If Ad-Aware SE finds bad entries, you will receive a list of what it found in the window
  • Save the log file when it asks and then click ‘Finish’
  • REBOOT to complete the removal of what Ad-Aware SE found.
Step #6

Next, let's clean up the temporary folders:
  • Download CleanUp! and install.
  • Start CleanUp! and click the CleanUp! button. Let it run to completion.
Step #7

OK. Reboot your computer normally, start HijackThis and perform a new scan. Post your new log file back here as a relpy to this topic and I will review it.

[b]DO NOT MAKE ANY CHANGES OR CLICK "FIX CHECKED" UNTIL WE CHECK THE LOG, AS SOME OF THE FILES ARE LEGITIMATE AND VITAL TO THE FUNCTION OF YOUR COMPUTER

Thanks for the help, I ran the scanners a few times, because the pop ups kept disrupting it. A few viruses couldn't be removed. Also the cleaner couldn't delete a few things. But here's the HiJackThis log:

Hi Paracitefluke. Ok, we have our work cut out for us so let's get started. Please print these directions and then proceed with the following steps in order.

Step #1

Part 1
  • Click Start>Run, type services.msc into the Open editbox and click the Ok button.
  • Locate the System Startup Service service and click the Stop button.
  • In the Startup type dropdown select Disabled.
  • Click the Apply button and then the Ok button.
  • Close the Services window
Part 2
  • Click Start>Run, type cmd into the Open editbox and click the Ok button.
  • Copy/paste the line below into the Command Prompt window and press the Enter key:
    • sc delete SvcProc
  • Close the Command Prompt window
Step #2

Before we run HijackThis we need to take care of a trojan named Peper which has infected your system. Please follow these steps to download and run a special repair tool:
  • Please Download PeperFix.exe.
  • Reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following:
    • Restart the computer.
    • As soon as BIOS is loaded begin tapping the F8 key until the Advanced Options menu appears.
    • Use the arrow keys to select the Safe Mode menu item.
    • Press the Enter key.
  • Start the tool and click Find and Fix.
  • Reboot to finish removing what it found (again, boot to Safe Mode).
  • Run the tool a second time.
  • Reboot to finish removing the entries.
Step #3

Start HijackThis and follow these steps:
  • Click on Config button
  • Click on the Misc Tools button
  • Click on the Open Process Manager button
Find the following items and click on each one to select it and then click on the Kill Process button to stop the process.:C:\WINDOWS\System32\COMADDIN.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\rkmmpa.exe
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\msw\BMan1.exe
C:\WINDOWS\UIQLDLL.EXE

C:\DOCUME~1\ALLUSE~1\APPLIC~1\msw\BMan.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\w?wexec.exe

Now close ALL open windows except HijackThis and click the Fix Checked button to finish the repair.

Step #5

We need to make sure all hidden files are showing so please:
  • Click Start.
  • Open My Computer.
  • Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
  • Select the View tab.
  • Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.
  • Uncheck the Hide file extensions for known types option.
  • Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
  • Click Yes to confirm.
  • Click OK.
Find the following files/folders and delete them (don't worry if they are already gone):C:\WINDOWS\cfgmgr51.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\zyvt.dll
C:\WINDOWS\Bolger.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\nsm65.dll
C:\documents and settings\daro chan\local settings\temp\XXO28Ixt.exe
C:\documents and settings\daro chan\local settings\temp\YJcE3.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\XipVQ9t0.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\COMADDIN.exe
C:\documents and settings\daro chan\local settings\temp\e0g.exe
C:\documents and settings\daro chan\local settings\temp\WeUDkJd.exe
C:\documents and settings\daro chan\local settings\temp\g.exe
C:\documents and settings\daro chan\local settings\temp\mABF.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\winupdt.exe
AUNPS2.DLL (look in C:\WINDOWS\ and C:\WINDOWS\system32\)
C:\WINDOWS\system32\rkmmpa.exe
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\msw\BMan1.exe
C:\WINDOWS\UIQLDLL.EXE
C:\WINDOWS\UIQLENC.EXE
C:\WINDOWS\cfgmgr51.dll
c:\windows\system32\kkauclb.exe
dnssel.exe (look in C:\WINDOWS\ and C:\WINDOWS\system32\)
C:\Documents and Settings\Daro chan\Application Data\eetu.exe
C:\WINDOWS\svcproc.exe

Note: If you receive any error messages while trying to delete any of the above files/folders then reboot into Safe Mode and try to delete them again. See the instructions below on how to boot into Safe Mode.

If needed, start in Safe Mode Using the F8 method:
  • Restart the computer in Safe Mode.
  • As soon as BIOS is loaded begin tapping the F8 key until the Advanced Options menu appears.
  • Use the arrow keys to select the Safe Mode menu item.
  • Press the Enter key.
If you rebooted into Safe Mode reboot normally now.

Step #6

Start CleanUp! and click on the CleanUp! button. Let it run to completion. It may take a few minutes depending on the size of your hard drive so be patient.

Step #7

Open Notepad and copy/paste the text from the quotebox below into the new document:

dir C:\WINDOWS\system32\w?wexec.exe /a h > files.txt notepad files.txt

Include the information from the files.txt file in your next post.

Save the document to your desktop as findfile.bat and close Notepad. Locate the findfile.bat file on your desktop and double-click on it to run it. Notepad should open up with some information in it. Include that information in your next post.

Step #8

OK. Reboot your computer normally, start HijackThis and perform a new scan. Use the Add Reply button to post your new log file and the information from the findfiles.bat file back here along with details of any problems you encountered performing the above steps and I will review it when it comes in.

This is only the first step in removing all of these infections so don't be surprised if some of them come back. We will work on those in the next round.

OT
I do not respond to PM's requesting help. That's what the forums are here for. Please use them so that others may benefit from your questions and the responses you receive.

Hi Paracitefluke. That looks much better. We still have a couple of items to remove so please please print these directions and then do the following.

Step #1

Download the Pocket Killbox.

Unzip the contents of KillBox.zip to a convenient location and then double-click on KillBox.exe to launch the program.
  • Highlight the lines below and press the Ctrl key and the C key at the same time to copy them to the clipboard:
    • C:\WINDOWS\system32\rkmmpa.exe
      c:\windows\system32\rnhftb.exe
  • Now go to the Killbox application and click on the File menu and then the Paste from Clipboard menu item. In the Full Path of File to Delete box you should see the first file. If you dropdown that box you should see the rest of them. Make sure that they are all there.
  • Click on the Delete on Reboot option and then click on the red circle with a white 'X' in to to delete the files. Killbox will tell you that all listed files will be deleted on next reboot, click YES. When it asks if you would like to Reboot now, click YES. If you get a "PendingFileRenameOperations Registry Data has been Removed by External Process!" message then just restart manually.
You system will reboot now.

Step #2

After the reboot start HijackThis and click the Scan button to perform a scan. Look for the following items and click in the checkbox in front of each item to select it:O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [KavSvc] C:\WINDOWS\system32\rkmmpa.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ehmfxj] c:\windows\system32\rnhftb.exe
O9 - Extra button: (no name) - {85d1f590-48f4-11d9-9669-0800200c9a66} - %windir%\bdoscandel.exe (file missing)
O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: Uninstall BitDefender Online Scanner v8 - {85d1f590-48f4-11d9-9669-0800200c9a66} - %windir%\bdoscandel.exe (file missing)

Now close ALL open windows except HijackThis and click the Fix Checked button to finish the repair.

Step #3

We need to make sure all hidden files are showing so please:
  • Click Start.
  • Open My Computer.
  • Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
  • Select the View tab.
  • Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.
  • Uncheck the Hide file extensions for known types option.
  • Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
  • Click Yes to confirm.
  • Click OK.
Verify that the following files/folders are gone and delete them if they are not:C:\WINDOWS\system32\rkmmpa.exe
c:\windows\system32\rnhftb.exe
c:\windows\system32\w?wexec.exe (this can have any character as the 2nd character but will have a size of 417,792 bytes and a date/time of 03/17/2005 10:08 AM)

If you rebooted into Safe Mode please reboot normally.

Step #4

Start CleanUp! and click on the CleanUp! button. Let it run to completion. It may take a few minutes depending on the size of your hard drive so be patient.

Step #5

Please run at least 2 of the following on-line virus scans:Trend Micro Housecall
BitDefender On-Line Virus Scan
Panda ActiveScan
Make sure that you choose "fix" or "clean".

Step #6

Run another full scan with Spybot Search & Destroy.

Step #7

I highly encourage you to install one of these free anti-virus applications since you currently do not have one installed at the present time. An anti-virus application is your first line of defense in not being infected and without one you are susceptible to every infection that is out there on the web and in emails today:Step #8

OK. Reboot your computer normally, start HijackThis and perform a new scan. Use the Add Reply button to post your new log file back here along with details of any problems you encountered performing the above steps and I will review it when it comes in.

Hi Paracitefluke. Yes, youhave a different infection here so let's see if we can take of that now.

Step #1

Download rkfiles.zip and unzip it to its own permanent folder.

Step #2

Step #3

Start HijackThis and click the Scan button to perform a scan. Look for the following items and click in the checkbox in front of each item to select it:O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [qyxmdl] c:\windows\system32\jfkkqlo.exe
Now close ALL open windows except HijackThis and click the Fix Checked button to finish the repair.

Step #4

We need to make sure all hidden files are showing so please:
  • Click Start.
  • Open My Computer.
  • Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
  • Select the View tab.
  • Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.
  • Uncheck the Hide file extensions for known types option.
  • Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
  • Click Yes to confirm.
  • Click OK.
Find the following files/folders and delete them (don't worry if they are already gone):c:\windows\system32\jfkkqlo.exe

If you rebooted into Safe Mode just stay in Safe Mode until I tell you to reboot normally.

Step #5

If you have not booted to Safe Mode then do so now.

Important! Reboot in SAFE MODE !!

Start in Safe Mode Using the F8 method:
  • Restart the computer in Safe Mode.
  • As soon as the BIOS is loaded begin tapping the F8 key until the Advanced Options menu appears.
  • Use the arrow keys to select the Safe Mode menu item.
  • Press the Enter key.
Locate the rkfiles.bat file and double-click it to run it. It will start scanning your computer and could take a little while so be patient. When the DOS window closes, reboot back to normal mode.

Post the contents of C:\log.txt back here and I will review it when it comes in.

Step #6

OK. Reboot your computer normally, start HijackThis and perform a new scan. Use the Add Reply button to post your new log file and the log from the rkfiles.bat scan back here along with details of any problems you encountered performing the above steps and I will review it when it comes in.
