Hi,

Just got some great help in cleaning up virus and adware. .... now need to make some space, defrag, etc.

Noticed 14 files, all starting with "s" and having typically single digit extensions, and a couple with two digit. THey range from 3.98 GB down to several ~230 mb. THey all come in pairs of exactly the same size.

examples are
s1d4.7 3.85GB
s1d4.6 3.85 GB
sic.6l 2.4 GB
sic.6k 2.4 gb
s5is.r 3.98 GB
s5is.q 3.98 GB

and so on to 14 files

What are these?
Do they have a purpose?
How did they get there?
Can I just dlete them?

I've spent over an hour googling and searchin forum, but could not find these answers.

Thanks in advance for your help

Thanks

I suspect something from a Canon camera. Is there a full path for these?

These are all directly in the root, c:\

I do have various camera items that are / were loaded. ....current is Nikon PitureProject. ...don't recall any Cannon camera being loaded.

The "Date modified" ranges from 2003 to 6/20/2008. (yes, I should throw this computer out) ..... but it serves it's purpose as an internet / kids computer.

Thanks

Someone else will be along with perhaps another suggestion. I only noticed that a google search of those items had a common thread of Canon, even powershot..

Move them to a temporary storage location elsewhere on your system and reboot. If you have no problems, then leave them in the temporary location for a couple of weeks. If they're not needed by then, delete them to the Recycle Bin - where they'll lay until forced out by other deletions.
