Hello Derek, Welcome to BleepingComputer. If you still need some help, please follow these directions:

1) I noticed this: http://castlecops.com/startuplist-85.html about this running program:
C:\PROGRAM FILES\INVERSE IP INSIGHT\BT\ARMON32A.EXE You way wish to ask Verizon if you can uninstall it. Your call.

2) Before I go after the malware, I want to say you have programs running at start up that you probably do not need and can start via Start/All Programs. You may wish to investigate this if you want to pick up speed and save resources.

3) You have HJT.exe in a folder called TOOLS. I have no problem with that, I just want to make sure you store nothing but HJT related in that folder. Thanks.

4) Download CCleaner from this link: http://www.ccleaner.com/ Take the time to review the instructions on the download page so that when I ask you to run it you will know what you are doing.

5) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://www.hotoffers.info/066/
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant =
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {5C8B2A36-3DB1-42A4-A3CB-D426709BBFEB} - (no file)
(if you do not want this as your StartPage, remove it)
O14 - IERESET.INF: START_PAGE_URL=http://bt.yahoo.com
O16 - DPF: {56336BCB-3D8A-11D6-A00B-0050DA18DE71} (RdxIE Class) - http://software-dl.real.com/24f46740744e33...ip/RdxIE601.cab
Netster: nasty adware

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

Run CCleaner then restart the computer and post a new log in this same thread along with any feedback you have. Let us know how you are running.

Thanks...pskelley

Hi again,

Followed your advice and the hijacks no longer occur. When I restarted computer I notice message something along the lines of ".....file arprot32.dll missing, program failed to start...."

No idea what the program is that failed to start, maybe arprot32.dll got deleted during cleanup?

Everything is looking much better, logfile attached.

thanks and best regards

Derek

OK Derek, Looking over the log now. Let me say if this error message continues, it is probably something that needs to go but I will need the exact wording of the message to investigate.

I do still suggest you talk to Verizon about this item, If you need a toll free number, let me know.
