I found switpb isn't good, but what do I do to remove it completely. It seems to sit in several parts of the registry as well.

What's thjghmv.exe?

In the running processes, there's the process unseccapp.exe. What's that?

Googling the last 2 didn't give usefull results.

And, are there any other things I should get rid off?

Thanks.

Hello Björn, Welcome to BleepingComputer. I will answer your questions first, then proceed with the removal process if you wish.

I found switpb isn't good, but what do I do to remove it completely

switpb.exe
http://www.superadblocker.com/S/SWITPB.EXE-2056.html

What's thjghmv.exe?

We call that a random named trojan. I am concerned with where it is running from. Probably your Prefetch folder.
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [switp] C:\WINDOWS\switpb.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [twjghmv] C:\WINDOWS\twjghmv.exe

In the running processes, there's the process unseccapp.exe. What's that?

http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default....atesinkstub.asp

I am sure this is a valid service, I just want you to tell me that.
O23 - Service: FileZilla Server FTP server (FileZilla Server) - Unknown owner - C:\tools\FileZilla Server\FileZilla Server.exe

Proceed like this:
1) Download CCleaner from this link: http://www.ccleaner.com/ Take the time to review the instructions on the download page so that when I ask you to run it you will know what you are doing.

2) Open Task Manager then the Process tab. End process on this item:
C:\WINDOWS\switpb.exe

3) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [switp] C:\WINDOWS\switpb.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [twjghmv] C:\WINDOWS\twjghmv.exe
(if you do not want this as your StartPage you can remove it)
O14 - IERESET.INF: START_PAGE_URL=http://www.targa.co.uk

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

SHOW HIDDEN FILES: Follow the instructions in the link to enable hidden files for your operating system.
You may wish to reverse this process if you have any concern about anyone getting into these hidden system files.
http://www.xtra.co.nz/help/0,,4155-1916458,00.html

RIGHT Click on Start then click on Explore. Locate and delete these items:

C:\WINDOWS\switpb.exe >>> file

C:\WINDOWS\twjghmv.exe >>> file

If you do not see the second one, then it is probably running from Prefetch, locate C:\Windows\Prefetch\ and delete everything in that folder. NOT THE FOLDER, just the contents.
Here is some information if you need it.

http://www.safecomputing.umn.edu/guides/tempdirectories.html
http://www.personal-computer-tutor.com/deletingtempfiles.htm

Since we just removed a trojan ot two, let's make sure none is hiding, run this free online scan, scan the whole system and set it to clean or fix anything it locates. Let me know what it finds and the exact name and location of anything it locates but can't remove. You may be asked to install an ActiveX, please do so as this program is safe and it can not run without it.
http://www.windowsecurity.com/trojanscan/

Run CCleaner then restart the computer and post a new log in this same thread along with any feedback you have. Let us know how you are running.

Thanks...pskelley

new logfile at the end of my post.

[QUOTE]

This is a ftp-server I was running, but since I didn't use it, I uninstalled him anyway.

I didn't find the twjghmv.exe file, but deleted all files in c:\windows\prefetch

The free online trojan scanner didn't find anything.

So everything seems ok for now.

Thanks a lot.

Looks good, C:\WINDOWS\twjghmv.exe is gone from the log, so it must have been hiding in Prefetch. Make sure you review that information so you understand the Prefetch folder and CCleaner will keep you running cleaner. Here is some great information from Tony Klein, Texruss, ChrisRLG and Grinler to help you stay clean and safe online:
