Bleeping Computer!

I mean, just the name alone is a happy one! It's great!

I have a lot of questions and maybe I'll run across the answers as I go, like, how big is this forum? Do people who register stay members forever? Is there a Little History of Bleeping Computers section? Did it grow up out of an idea or did it zap into existence more or less complete? How old is it?

I've been using this forum for quite awhile, but decided it was time to join and look for some companions in computer crises and some flagrant and foolish philosophical fellows.

Zllio

p.s. is there an easy way to find avatars on the net? or an easy way to make them?

Welcome to the BC Zllio,

At the bottom of this page you can see the stats of the size of the BC.
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/
We are over 200,000 registered members and near 1 million posts =/-.

The site started up in Jan '04 because the owner got tired of being an\the only resource for a few others.

Some of us have been around since near the beginning. Members come and go.
We are a family of people sharing with one another.

RE the avatars... a google search will show you a lot and even how to make your own.

Hope you stick around with us.

Regards,
Koan

PS: one here might write up a BC history line in the near future.
You can learn a lot by perusing these two forums from the first posted items?

Additionally, you will learn the NICK of the originator of this site.

Koan has already briefly answered some of your questions, and these answers may in turn bring up other questions. What began rather modestly has, thanks to our many contributing Members, grown into a respected forum that has helped countless people get through all sorts of computer problems.
Welcome to BC!
Cheers,
John
