Every time I wake my laptop up from sleep mode, my Windows live messenger refuses to start. It is still showing up in task bar but I get no response from right-clicking on it. When I double-click on it, the main messenger window opens but it unresponsive. Once I get the main msngr window up I can use Task Manager to disable the process and then start it again fresh. It's either this or restart the computer completely, which I have done a few times after I got sick of restarting the process. It works great after a restart.
Any clue why this keeps happening? It is a pain to have to restart the process every time I wake the machine up.
I also have Messenger Plus! installed, if that makes a difference.
Thanks,
KN

I have exactly the same issue. The WLMessenger support people asked me to completely uninstall WSLMessenger and reinstall it. But as always happen with that people this is not the solution.

I have the same issue. The Window is there, but I cannot interact with the Window. It's like the Window is not use the normal Windows graphical system (User32.dll). I wonder if it uses some new library that is working properly after sleep mode. My guess is that if the sub-system, whatever these libraries are, can be updated, then Windows Live might function.

If any solutions of in, let me know. suavecali AT yahoo

Sleep and hibernation are intimately tied to the graphics drivers on your system. The first step with any sleep/hibernation issue should be (IMO) to uninstall your current graphics drivers and download a fresh copy of the latest WHQL certified version to install on your system. This will, hopefully, remove any corruption and restore the the graphics drivers.

Hi USASMA, I'm not so sure!. This problem only happens when awaking from sleep mode, it doesn't happen when you return from hibernation. In the same way I also have installed Yahoo messenger and Gmail and both opens without any problems when awaking.
