I have a Compaq Presario 2100 (model 2199US) I have a DVD/CD Drive/Burner combo installed. If I insert a disc,
I can here the drive try and access the disc. Then it stops and..nothing. When I go my computer to check on the status,
the only drive listed is my C: drive. It's like it doesn't even exist. I've tried to install a new driver, but I get an error that
says "no device installed". How did I get my laptop to even realize that it is there?

Please Help

Thanks,

Jester

Having grandkids is God's way of giving you a 2nd chance because you were too busy working your butt off the 1st time around

Ditto! Two months and thirty pages of print from the Microsoft help site did nothing. In less than five minutes, I have my CD and DVD drives back! Thank you.
