I've noticed that there is a file called YServer.txt in drive C. When I delete it, it comes back again.

Is this file safe?

I use Windows XP.

Well...it's hard for a text file to be anything but safe, I think. See http://filext.com/file-extension/TXT

A text file cannot initiate action...it is usually the result of action originated by some other program/routine.

OTOH, .exe and .dll files can initiate action and that's why you will find many malware items with those file extensions.

FWIW: http://www.processlibrary.com/directory/files/yserver AND http://www.file.net/process/yserver.exe.html

Most commonly this is a log for the Yahoo Messenger program.
Uploading it to http://virusscan.jotti.org/ for a scan can tell you if it's legit or a virus.
My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.
