“Steve from Boise” here, and glad to be here really. I appreciated right off the bat your organization of this site and it's IP.Board. My career is 23 years in IT, in a variety of areas including in the order I launched them... teaching, technical support, sales consulting, database development, manufacturing systems, Oracle on Linux, business development, web development, and now project management.

Currently I spend most of my time running a wellness corporation, helping large groups of individual adults make it to the starting line of 5Ks, 10Ks, half and full marathons, and triathlon. Nutrition and exercise surrounded by group support... it works every time in helping us change out lives.

Boise, Idaho USA. A well kept secret; an incredible place to live.

There you go. And good job to the entire team who runs this place. Introductions!
Now back to the task that brought me to Bleeping, cleaning the infestation of my home PC.
I'm preparing to launch ComboFix after seeking the advice of my most trusted guru. (can you say, "all the other commercial products I tried failed at stopping and cleaning this current bug" ?).

Welcome to Bleeping Computer, Steve.

ComboFix is an extremely powerful tool which should only be used when instructed to do so by someone who has been properly trained. ComboFix is intended by its creator to be "used under the guidance and supervision of an expert", NOT for private use. Please read Combofix's Disclaimer. Using this tool incorrectly could lead to disastrous problems with your operating system such as preventing it from ever starting again.

Please create a new topic, in the Am I infected? What do I do? forum, explaining the nature of your problem. Describe pop-ups and system tray or desktop icons that have appeared. Explain what is "going wrong" with your computer. Note any tools you have used and their respective results.

If needed, we will direct you to our HJT Preparation Guide.

Please take the time, to browse the New User Orientation forum, to help familiarize yourself with how the board works.
If you have any questions about how to use this site, this forum will probably answer them.

Also, don't forget to check out the Tutorials.
There's a lot of very useful information, in there.
