I have window XP Pro2... I have no encryption software installed on my PC.
I had a file on my Desktop, I right-clicked went to properties, advanced, and then encrypted it...
Ok, it was just to see how it worked exactly. I then unchecked that box on the file, so it's now decrypted and everything should be normal, i've made no changes, just encrypted then decrypted... Now, all of a sudden anything I download in encrypted =/ They all have the green font and If i make a new folder anywhere it looks normal, then whenever I put something into it, It get encrypted... I don't want to have to keep on unchecking the box every single time! It's very annoying because when I copy 15+gig from my External to my HDD it has to encrypt it, so it takes extra long =(

Thanks in advance... I hope you guys can help ^_^

This is really doing my head in... Don't worry, there's no way this could lead to me decrypting other people's things

Does nobody have any idea??? If not, does anyone know anyone that can help me? If you could redirect me to a better source. It takes ages to decrypt everything! I'm assuming that i've enabled Encrypt as default, but I don't see how

I've got no idea what caused this - but would start with a couple of online scans to rule out a malware infection:

(Be advised that some of these scanners will pickup things in "quarantine" from other anti-virus programs - so review the results carefully)

If you turn out to be infected, post your question here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/f/103/am-i-infected-what-do-i-do/
If you come up clean on two of the scans, then post back here and we'll run you through checking your protected system files, then checking the rest of the system files.
My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.
