I've used Ad-Aware, AVG Free, and even bought McAfee last night trying to get rid of this garbage.. Not one worked.

Now I came here and saw Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and used that... said everything was clean and the second the files were "deleted" it came back yet again and did the same old "windows firewall has found blah blah blah click here to enable protection and come to our bogus antivirus software page"

Anyways. Here is the log of the malwarebytes' deal.. hopefully someone can help because im lost.

Hi Uncontested,

Hopefully last steps...

Please go HERE to run Panda's ActiveScan
  • Once you are on the Panda site click the Scan your PC button
  • A new window will open...click the Check Now button
  • Enter your Country
  • Enter your State/Province
  • Enter your e-mail address and click send
  • Select either Home User or Company
  • Click the big Scan Now button
  • If it wants to install an ActiveX component allow it
  • It will start downloading the files it requires for the scan (Note: It may take a couple of minutes)
  • When download is complete, click on My Computer to start the scan
  • When the scan completes, if anything malicious is detected, click the See Report button, then Save Report and save it to a convenient location. Post the contents of the ActiveScan report
Finally, rerun Malwarebytes and post a new log.

Good morning Uncontested,

It is time for more specialized tools. Those items must be run in the HJT forum. Please open this guide and follow step (9) - Download HijackThis and create a log. When you post, please link back to this topic so the HJT team member can see what sets we have taken.

Good luck with the remainder of your cleaning. We have a great HJT team here - you are in good hands! If you have any questions, please let me know.

I'm not sure if its luck or what, I'm still going to do a HJSplit log but after I went to bed I did another scan and it found 2 more infected files... cleaned them and restarted.. now I'm not getting the pop up and i was able to change my background picture back to what it was again. .

Now that your log is properly posted, you should NOT make further changes to your computer (install/uninstall programs, use special fix tools, delete files, edit the registry, etc) unless advised by a HJT Team member, nor should you continue to ask for help elsewhere. Doing so can result in system changes which may not show it the log you already posted. Further, any modifications you make on your own may cause confusion for the helper assisting you and could complicate the malware removal process which would extend the time it takes to clean your computer.

From this point on the HJT Team should be the only members that you take advice from, until they have verified your log as clean.

Please be patient. It may take a while to get a response because the HJT Team members are very busy working logs posted before yours. They are volunteers who will help you out as soon as possible. Once you have made your post and are waiting, please DO NOT make another reply until it has been responded to by a member of the HJT Team. Generally the staff checks the forum for postings that have 0 replies as this makes it easier for them to identify those who have not been helped. If you post another response there will be 1 reply. A team member, looking for a new log to work may assume another HJT Team member is already assisting you and not open the thread to respond.

If after 5 days you still have received no response, then post a link to your HJT log in the thread titled "Haven't Had A Reply In Five Days?".

To avoid confusion, I am closing this topic.
