Just finished building my new computer today - put CoD4 on it, played in one server fine, but then when I left the game and entered a new server, the computer shut itself down. Turned the computer back on and launched CoD4 again - this time it prompted me to boot the game in Safe Mode. Doing so, I played in one sever, switched servers, and then the same problem occurred. I don't understand why this is happening, as this computer is brand new. Here are the specs:

Manufacturer:
NVIDIA
Processor:
Intel® Core™2 Quad CPU Q6700 @ 2.66GHz (4 CPUs)
Memory:
2302MB RAM
Hard Drive:
99 GB
Video Card:
2 SLi'ed NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX
Monitor:
Plug and Play Monitor
Sound Card:
SB X-Fi Audio [7C00]
Operating System:
Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 3 (2600.xpsp.080413-2111)
Motherboard: EVGA nforce 780i SLI Socket 775 Motherboard

Thanks.

probably overheating. Try running it with the side off the case. maybe point a fan at it. But before that make sure you seated the heatsink correctly. You used thermal compound right?
I really doubt if its crashing just because of entering a second server. But just for fun enter a game, immediately leave and join a different one.
