Advent 7081 Will Not Start

Hi,can anyone help..my advent 7081 Will Not start.When I press the on button the cpu fan turns for a split second,then Nothing.Black screen.I can hear something humming could be harddrive.The green power plugged in light is on...I`ve took out the battery & left for 24hrs ,Then pressed the power button for 60 seconds then plugged power back in,kept button down for 10 seconds ,then off for 10 seconds then pressed the power button on,the same thing happens.I`ve put a seperate monitor into the back of it but nothing...I`ve tried it with out the dvd drive in,& battery off .......PLEASE can someone help..thanx

The only thing that comes to mind quickly is to check the power module with a voltmeter to make sure it's working properly
Maybe it's not putting out enough power to charge the battery or run the computer
