I have an intermittent problem starting up my PC. It frequently, but not all the time, stops at the moving green bar with the words Microsoft Corporation underneath. I have waited for about 15 minutes before having to hit the on/off button to close down.
I have tried the Startup Repair but that has not worked. If I start up in Safe Mode and then restart into normal mode all is okay. I have entered MSConfig/Boot Ini and selected OS Boot Information. If I leave that on all is well! Recently I saw some information that Bluetooth software and drivers were causing a similar problem. I have uninstalled my Bluetooth software and uninstalled the drivers. At the moment all is well - but.......... watch this space!

My system is Vista Home Premium, 2gb RAM, Avast AntiVirus, Windows Firewall with Vista Firewall Control. I have AdAware 2008, SpyBot and Spywareblaster installed. My PC is fully up to date with MS Updates and all my security programmes are up to date.

What you describe sounds like a driver issue to me - and you've done the proper thing to start fixing it (removing the bluetooth stuff). If it starts acting up again, post back and we'll do some more troubleshooting.

Good luck!
My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.

Thanks for getting back to me so promptly. There has been no re-occurrence just yet. I will report back if the problem returns.

Okay, I have tested my laptop for a week now and it is now working all right - thank goodness! Hopefully I have corrected the problem. If it returns I shall start another thread should you wish to mark this one as solved. Many thanks for your help.
