I have Installed the latest "ACTIVEX" and no matter what I do when I go to a page with activex needed it say you need to down load plugin. I uninstalled and reloaded, set my security in internet options and still nogo.I have XP SP2.
also When I try to upgrade to IE7 and SP3 neither one finishes.Ran virus scans and defraged. Is there another way to ensure active x is enabled besides the usual internet options way.Or is there a fix for this as well as one to get IE7 to get it to load?

What error messages do you get on the failed SP3 install?

What webpages are telling you that you need ActiveX? Again...what is the exact message on these pages?

Im getting these messages during SP3 install.

SERVICE PACK 3 SETUP ERROE- ACCESS DENIED

SERVICE PACK 3 INSTALLATION DID NOT COMPLETE SELECT UNDO TO UNDO CHANGES

SERVICE PACK 3 INSTALLATION NOT COMPLETE WINDOWS XP PARTIALLY UPDATED.

I am trying to watch movies on my netflix account but it keeps saying ACTIVEX not enabled but it works on other sites such as youtube and such that use activex.

Focusing on the SP3 errors...at what point does SP3 begin it's backward dance? My experience is that an error message is generated and appears onscreen just before user gets the option to select UNDO. That message usually highlights the problem area on the system.

Hmm...that is weird.

All previous reports (and my experience going from RC2 to the final version) indicate that the file or registry entry where access is denied...is always identified by viewing the window reflecting files installed/accessed.

But...I just came across this, http://support.microsoft.com/kb/949377

Your link worked. I had to make a note pad file and download the fix.
Thanks so much
