Instant Messanger problem

wondering if anyone can help me out here,

my IM was working fine and then all of a sudden, it just tell me that an error occurs and it shuts down. i cant send or receive or many messages

could it be a spyware problem or an something, im tried restarting my computer and reinstalling the application but it still doesnt work.

Please help

Have you done a virus, spyware or any other computer scan since the problem happened.

What IM are you using, and are you getting any specific error messages?
Have you installed any new applications or patches?

well i scanned with adaware, spybots, cwshredder, and ccleaner,

come to think of it, this happened after i did those scans

actually no, i have done nothing new aside from using the spyware cleaners, since i reinstalled the IM, i download the newest verison which is 5.9 i believe

The newest version of MS IM is 6.2.
I suspect that you deleted something in error. If these applications have vaults containing deletions, you can restore what you have deleted.

i recently posted an HJT list earlier thinking it could be some spyware messing with me, some help me out and cleaned cleaned the list, now its working fine. thanks for your help though
