hi i have just recently had to repaid my copy of windows xp. and i have had to reinstall the driver for my cable modem and at the end of the installation process it says access denied. i thought it might of been due to the firewall that i am runnin (zone alarm security suite) so i shut it down and tried again and still the same problem. also windows firewall is turned off. i tried with both usb and ethernet but it didn't even recognize it when it was connected by ethernet conenction

Hello ReX,

The event viewer may give some clues to the problem.

1. Click Start select run
2. Type eventvwr.exe
3. Press enter
4. Search through the groups for errors and warnings.
5. Double click on each error and or warning.
6. Locate the copy to clipboard button, Posted Image (under the two arrows)
7. Let us know what you find. (paste the results)
