I'm new here. Have my MS Word 2000 CD and can't find my product key, the 25 numbers/letters. This is easy for Win XP using Belarc Adviser but haven't found solution to this dilemma. Any ideas folks!
Thanks Scotty

If you have the cd you can call microsoft and they will ask for proof (usually photocopy or serial number off the cd) and give you a new cd key.

I think the cd key reader only works if you have the product installed. It cant retrieve it from the cd itself.

We had the same problem with Office 2000 Small business edition which shipped with our comp as a bundle. I called MS and told them I had the original CD's and that it came with the computer. If your computer says on it "do not make illegal copies of this disc" they will give you a new product key without charge. If it says "for distribution with a new pc only" I think its $20.00 for the key.....give them a call and see what they say...

good luck

Darren
