If you're still trying to use Firebird, I think that may be one of your problems.
Uninstall Firebird (it's not supported any longer)
Download Firefox
http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/

Other than that, I can't help you. I just work on HJT logs and try my best to get rid of spyware/malware and viruses.

Well, as I've already told you, fixing this line doesn't have anything to do with your problems:
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Connection Wizard,ShellNext = wmplayer.exe

It's just a useless reg entry. See this article by MS for more information:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...kb;en-us;298096

As you can see from that article, you don't have to have any data for ShellNext--and I've checked this out on my own XP machine so it doesn't matter that the article applies to Win9x/ME. As a matter of fact you can get rid of the internet Connection Wizard altogether if you want:
http://www.annoyances.org/exec/show/article04-005

Your problems stem from something else and you shouldn't even have posted this in the logs forum. Please don't start any more topics in this forum about these issues. You already have too many threads going at once in the other forums. I'm closing this thread.

Review the rules here:
