Just Reinstalled Windows Need Sound Back

Ive just reinstalled windows and forgot to back up my sound files, my computer info

Sony
Windows XP - Professional


Not sure on what the model is.

According to that information the system has Audio Adapter Intel 82801DB ICH4 - AC'97 Audio Controller The intel website should have the drivers needed.

Ive download them, but still no sound, and i dont have my sound icon in the bottom corner, i went to control panel, but its greyed out.

Where you enable the icon.

Also i downloaded another one, ac 97 1985, and it says driver not found reboot your computer.

I rebooted and try the setup again, and it still comes up with the messege.

Right click on the multimedia audio controller and try and install a driver for the device, usually Microsoft will search for a compatible driver that may work.
