For example, if I reinstall Vista because there are viruses on my computer, will they be removed?

A format, and reinstall, should remove everything.

a simple reinstall will not remove them, but as tg1911 said, you need to re-format to remove, but that will remove everyting else too.

hi,,, go to the "am i infected and what should i do" forum of this site and they will help you out with out a reinstall if at all possable,,,
