hi

I am trying to install ChessMaster GrandMaster Edition but with no sucess

Everytime i do it, , just in the 1st few seconds i will find this problem:

Error 1330- a file that is required cannot be installed because the cabinet file G:\Chessmaster etc. en\game.cab has an invalid digital signature. This may indicate that the cabinet file is corupt.

What the hell is that??
I tried to install the game on other pc and i did it! But on my pc its impossible!!

Please give me ideas, i am getting ver annoyed!

Hello cronomi and welcome to BC.

I have had similar problems installing software, it turned out to be a over sensitive CD drive.

I used http://www.kvipu.com/CDCheck/ to recover the damaged files.
Regards,

Alan.

hi! thnaks for the help. I tried that software u gave but wont detect any errors

i dont understand

Btw, um CDCheck Software, what means "Hash" ? Do u thibk i should try that option? The only one i tried was "Check"

Also, i suspect that the problem is not related with CD drive sensitive for the following reason: i try to install the game with the DVD but also with copy files to a flash drive or even directly with the copy files in the harddrive. I tried everything. But in the pc of my cousin thing work normally! I dont get!

I read somewhere, about a similar problem with other game, that this may be caused with some "incompatibiltys" (dont know wich ones) related with Win Installer.

Such annoying problem :flowers:

Have you attempted to install the game in Safe Mode?
Cheers,
John

didnt work. For some reason Win Installer is not working on Safe Mode.

Anyway i did it with a stupid solution: i installed the game on the computer of a friend, with my DVD. Then i copy all the files ( i mean, all the installed game) from the PC of my friend to my PC. In fact, what i did was just installing the game on other computer.

Now it works.

If it all works then it is a good solution. With the cdcheck software, I use it to extract the files to the desktop then instal them from there.

Glad it all works, Thanks for letting us know the solution.
Regards,

Alan.
