I'm trying to connect to my wifi. I have bought a win 98 compatable wireless card, but although it is seeing the wireless router it won't connect.

I can't see where I need to enter the password for the router either.

Can anyone give me some advice please?

What's the make and model of the router?

The router is a netgear 834 wireless.

Like I say - the wireless card sees it - but I can't connect to it.

Do you have any other computers that can connect with wireless? What software are you using to detect the wireless router?

Just to add, can you get to the router setup page, usually something like 192.168.0.1 in the address bar of your browser?
Regards,

Alan.

No - it won't connect. The router is protected with a WEP key. Apparently Win 98SE isn't compatable.

If its not compatible, you may need to find a replacement.
