I believe this is a trojan or something like that. I keep getting a pop telling me I am infected with spyware and it wants me to agree to a scan from "scanner.vav". How can I get rid of it. Is there a removal tool?

Try downloading Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from this location http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/ind...mp;#entry876163 and follow the instructions there as well.
