I have a Toshiba Satellite A305 laptop. It worked perfectly until about a week ago, when I tried to press one of the little "quick launch" buttons. In particular, the one that mutes the system. Nothing happened when I pressed it. I pressed the other ones to see what would happen, and there was no response from them either. I don't know what I would need to do in order to get these keys to work again. Any help is appreciated!

Are you sure you're talking about the Quick Launch bar and not the System tray?
Just double checking

Having grandkids is God's way of giving you a 2nd chance because you were too busy working your butt off the 1st time around

Yeah, it's not the system tray. the problem lies with the small hardware buttons on the laptop... there are also buttons for starting the DVD player app as well as pausing, stopping, and other dvd watching functions. Those don't work either. When I press the button, it softly flashes like it knows I pressed it but doesn't do anything.
