When I insert a floppy disk and click on drive A in My Computer, it sas to insert a disk in the floppy drive! But I already inserted one!

What do I do?

Is this a blank floppy, if so is it formatted?

Have you looked in the Device Manager to see if there are any errors or warnings (errors are red, warnings are yellow)?

One thing you can try is to uninstall the drive in the Device Manager and let the Installation Wizard recognize it after rebooting and let it install it and assign new drivers.

Yes, it's a blank floppy and formatted.
But it doesn't detect anything when I insert it.

There are no warnings in Device Manager. It says it's working fine.

Which should I uninstall? The floppy drive itself, the floppy drive controller or both?

Try the drive first, if that doesn't help try the controller.

The floppy drive's now working but it wasn't a software problem. I opened up the computer and noticed that the drive was not getting any power. Thanks anyways.
