Hello, earlier today i ran an avast boot time scan. I realized that it found win32:trojan-gen but it said that it deleted it. I do not know how this i got this trojan because i ran an avast scan yesterday, and many other times this week and it hasnt found anything. I haven't downloaded anything today, nor have i gone to any sites that i am not familiar with. All i have done was update SaS, Spybot S&D, and MBAM. Could this be a false positive? Also, avast says it has deleted this. Does this trojan come back? Or is it gone for good. Thank you

Many security vendors use their own specific names to identify types of malware so it can be difficult to determine exactly what infection was detected.

Did avast provide a specific file name associated with this malware threat and if so, where was it located (full file path) at on your system?

Avast should have created a log file. Check in C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\DATA\log.

You also can rescan to make sure it hasn't regenerated and returned.
