Okay. I disabled Windows Messenger through the Control Panel, but I still have the icon in my system tray. I want it gone (just because I hate the bloody program SO MUCH that I can't even stand to have to look at the icon). But every time I try to get rid of the icon, I get an error message saying that other applications using Windows Messenger need to be closed first.

Only problem is, I haven't got any of those programs open.

Gah. Any ideas on how I can rid my system tray of that little blue freak?

Click Start, then Run. Copy/Paste the following then click OK

RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection%windir%\inf\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove

Then Reboot and Messenger will be gone
