sherry1,

Welcome to the BC Forums, I will be reviewing your HJT log.
Please read through the following intructions before proceeding.
You may want to print these out for a reference.

Download LSPFix and unzip into it's own folder.
Do not use it yet
If the next step leaves you without a functioning Internet connection, you will need to run this.

To remove New.net please go to:
Start | Control Panel | Add-Remove Programs, look for and remove New.Net or NewdotNet
If you can't find it, then please go here and follow the removal instructions in Procedure 4 at the bottom of the page.

If you can not connect to the Internet after removing New.net, please run the LSP-Fix program I had you download earlier, and click on the finish button. Reboot and you should be able to get back on.

Note: Misuse of LSPFix can cause loss of internet connectivity. Do not use it if it is not required.

Reboot and post back a new HJT log once you have done this by using Add Reply

Thanks,
rstones12

sherry1,

This removal process is going to take a series of steps.
I would suggest printing out these instructions or saving it to notepad by copying and pasting and then saving it to your desktop.

This will seem a bit overwhelming but if you follow the instructions as posted you should do just fine.

Follow these instructions in the order in which they are posted.

1. Enable show hidden files and folders:

* Click Start.
* Open My Computer.
* Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
* Select the View Tab.
* Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.
* Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
* Click Yes to confirm.
* Click OK.

2. Click on Start | Run
Then type services.msc into the box that opens up, and press 'OK'.

On the page that opens, scroll down to System Startup Service or SvcProc
  • Right click the entry
  • Select Properties
  • Press Stop Service
When it shows that it is stopped, next in the drop down box please set the 'Start-up Type' to 'Disabled'. Press 'OK' until you get back to Windows.

3. Next, open up HJT, but instead of scanning, at the lower right, click on the Config button, and then the Misc tools button
Delete an NT Service
Copy/paste the following into the box that opens, and press "OK":

SvcProc

4.Now, for the next part.

Click on Start | Run ... type cmd and press "OK".

In the next box that opens, type cd\ and press "Enter". Now you'll see the C: prompt ... looks like this: C:\>

Type cd\windows and then Enter.

Next, type nail.exe /FullRemove (make sure there is a space between nail.exe and the /) ... then Enter.

5.Scan with HJT and place a checkmark next to the following items, dont fix anything just yet.

Close all browser and open windows then click Fix Checked

Download CWShredder
And save it to your desktop.
Close all open browser windows and any other open windows.

Install CWShredder, then:

Open CWS and click Check for Updates
Then click "FIX"

Please run at least one of these online scans, allow it to delete anything it finds:
You may have to select the auto-fix option prior to scanning, it should be a selection box on the screen. If you are a dial-up user just do one, this can take some time.
If you are a broadband user, I would suggest at least 2 of the 3. One extra scan is most often times enough.TrendMicro HouseCall
BitDefender On-Line Virus Scan
Panda ActiveScan
Please make a note of anything that wasn't or couldn't be fixed.

Reboot your machine when finished.

sherry1,

Try logging off as the current user then log in as the administrator on your computer.

How many user accounts do you have set up??

Thanks,

sherry1,

We have to take a different approach to this.

Please run at least two of these online scans, allow it to delete anything it finds:
You may have to select the auto-fix option prior to scanning, it should be a selection box on the screen. If you are a dial-up user just do one, this can take some time.
If you are a broadband user, I would suggest at least 2 of the 3. TrendMicro HouseCall
BitDefender On-Line Virus Scan
Panda ActiveScan
Please make a note of anything that wasn't or couldn't be fixed.
Reboot your machine when finished.

You may have run these programs already, make sure they are up to date and run per provided instructions.
Current Versions are:
Spybot S&D Ver: 1.3 Download Here
Ad-Aware SE Build 1.05 Download Here

Download and install both Spybot S&D and Ad-Aware SE.

Instructions:

Spybot S&D:
Go to your Start Menu >> Programs >> Spybot S&D >> then choose Spybot S&D.

*Close ALL windows except Spybot S&D
*Click the button to "Search for Updates" and download and install the Updates.
*Close Spybot then launch it again
*Click the button "Check for Problems"
*When Spybot is done scanning, it will be showing "RED" (RED) entries, "BLACK" entries and "GREEN" (GREEN) entries in the window
*Put a check mark beside the RED (RED) entries ONLY.
*Choose "Fix Selected Problems" and allow Spybot to fix the RED (RED) entries.

Ad-Aware SE FULL SCAN:
Go to your Start Menu >> Programs >> Lavasoft Ad-Aware SE >> then choose Ad-Aware SE Personal.

When the main window opens look in the bottom right corner and click on Check For Updates Now then click Connect and download the latest reference files.

From main window:
*Click Start then under Select a scan Mode check Perform Full System Scan.
*Next deselect Search for negligible risk entries.
*To scan just click the Next button.

When the scan has finished mark everything for removal and get rid of it.
(Right-click the window and choose select all from the drop down menu and click Next)
The program will ask if you want to fix/delete selected items, choose yes/fix.

Then repost a new HJT log by using Add Reply
