I got my yearly virus. I can't boot to my hardrive. Cd and floppy booting ok. the prompt i get is a yoyo. the o's look like sideways 8's.C I'm running winxp pro. can i save the harddrive without losing everything? thanks to anyone that can help.

Are you saying you can boot,but only from a CD or floppy and then Windows is OK? You can scan after that?

the dmi info from the bios goes to yooyoo instead of to the c prompt and stalls there. doesn't access the hard drive so i don't get into windows. looks like a problem with the mbr.the yooyoo_ underscore flashes and the o's look like sideways 8's. any ideas?
