Hi guys,

I have thus far used html to create my own site http://photo.mytidbits.de (link to my picture subdomain) and wanted to switch to something easier to use. I was thinking of using a Content Management System that is easy to use (no hero with php and sql stuff), but would also like something satisfying my needs for my pictures.

I have a Photobucket account for stuff I use on site here and elsewhere, but using it for my photos was not really practicable. I found a site with different photo related things here, but nothing is of that kind I am looking for.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Things like Flickr jump to mind, but I dont want my photos to be discussed or anything like that, much more like a show case so to say.

Cheers,

YoHi

hi nigglesnush85,

thanks for the reply. I think thats both what I am using at the moment or am looking into installing (cms wise). I dont seem to grasp jalbums functionability fully though lol and havent really gotten my head around joomla. May be its just a bit intimidating if you dont work with php much and are asked to edit all sorts of things. I am yet to find a good tutorial / set of instructions for either two  .

Gallery2 is a good Photo Gallery CMS type of thing.
I used it on one of my sites and it's very easy to set up.
I did have some little problems but I was playing around with the permissions.
Hope this helps!!

One more vote for jalbum.
Create your album on your pc then upload what jalbum
creates to a folder on your host.
No mysql, no php, just an index page and a couple folders.

Thanks raw. I had used that one before but somehow was too thick to get it "personalised." Ended up with that standard one where you can buy things asf. Have now done it again and am uploading now. But its crazy how it makes 460 MBs out of 215 MBs. Should be up later under http://photo.mytidbits.de
