Hello andrewe_66 and welcome to the BC forums. After reviewing your log I see a few items that require our attention. Please proceed with the following steps in order.

Step #1

Start HijackThis and click the Scan button to perform a scan. Look for the following items and click in the checkbox in front of each item to select it:R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer,(Default) = http://clearsurfing.net/srch.php?qq=%s
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://www.makemesearch.com/?said=364
F2 - REG:system.ini: UserInit=C:\WINDOWS\system32\Userinit.exe

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Microsoft Tray] C:\Documents and Settings\andrew\My Documents\My Music\poser 5 key gen .exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [MyWebSearch Email Plugin] C:\PROGRA~1\MyWay\bar\2.bin\mwsoemon.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ViewMgr] C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\Viewpoint Manager\ViewMgr.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [StopSignStatus] Rundll32.exe "C:\Program Files\Common Files\eAcceleration\Installer\stopsinfo.dll",VerifyStatus
O4 - HKLM\..\RunOnce: [StopSignStatus] Rundll32.exe "C:\Program Files\Common Files\eAcceleration\Installer\stopsinfo.dll",VerifyStatus /ro
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [LTM2] C:\WINDOWS\litmus\mswinsys.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [delmsbb] C:\WINDOWS\delmsbb.exe
O6 - HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Control Panel present
O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{1C453278-F91B-42F9-802C-2FE6F091C7EB}: NameServer = 69.50.176.196,195.225.176.37
O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{72650500-6EF7-415C-ADB1-2CB098962073}: NameServer = 69.50.176.196,195.225.176.37
O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{F186D67A-80DE-4F20-80FB-A93C022ACEE4}: NameServer = 69.50.176.196,195.225.176.37
O17 - HKLM\System\CS1\Services\Tcpip\..\{1C453278-F91B-42F9-802C-2FE6F091C7EB}: NameServer = 69.50.176.196,195.225.176.37

Now close ALL open windows except HijackThis and click the Fix Checked button to finish the repair.

Step #2

Now we will remove some programs using Add or Remove Programs in the Control Panel:
  • Click Start.
  • Click Control Panel.
  • Double-click Add or Remove Programs.
  • Look in the Currently installed programs box for each program listed below and if it is there:
  • Click on it to select it.
  • Click Change (or Change/Remove) button.
  • If you are prompted to confirm the removal of the program, click Yes.
MyWay SearchBar or anything with MyWay in the name
eAcceleration Stopsign (this is considered a rogue application that produces many false positives and is very poor in performance)
Viewpoint ViewManger (this has the ability to contact the internet and download files without your knowledge or consent)

Step #3

We need to make sure all hidden files are showing so please:
  • Click Start.
  • Open My Computer.
  • Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
  • Select the View tab.
  • Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.
  • Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
  • Click Yes to confirm.
  • Click OK.
Find the following files/folders and delete them (don't worry if they are already gone):C:\Program Files\MyWay\ <--folder
C:\Documents and Settings\andrew\My Documents\My Music\poser 5 key gen .exe
C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\ <--folder
C:\Program Files\Common Files\eAcceleration\ <--folder
C:\WINDOWS\litmus\mswinsys.exe
C:\WINDOWS\delmsbb.exe

Step #4

Download CleanUp! and install it. Start CleanUp! and click on the CleanUp! button. Let it run to completion. It may take a few minutes depending on the size of your hard drive so be patient.

Step #5

OK. Reboot your computer normally, start HijackThis and perform a new scan. Post your new log file back here along with details of any problems you encountered performing the above steps using the Add Reply button and I will review it when it comes in.

OT
I do not respond to PM's requesting help. That's what the forums are here for. Please use them so that others may benefit from your questions and the responses you receive.

Hi thanks for the responce, so I did the steps.

I encounntered two problems

could not delete C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\ <--folder because it said that Axmetastream.dll was being used by somebody else.

and I could not remove
C:\Program Files\Common Files\eAcceleration\ <--folder
because it was write protected.

I am still having problems with the cursor flying around and windows closing/collapsing. But MSN explorer now retains my home page.

And I did forget some other information yesterday, my Background has been Hijacked instead of a picture I have screen that fades between white and pink. I clicked on properties and it says its an HTML file://C:\WINDOWS\Web\desktop.html.

below is the log, and thanks again
Andrew

Hi andrewe_66. Ok, that makes more sense to me. What you have is a webpage overlay on your desktop. Try this:
  • Click Start>Control Panel>Display
  • Go to the Desktop tab and click on the Customise Desktop button.
  • Go to the Web tab
  • In the web page box, click on the page that is checkmarked and then click the Delete button.
  • Ok your way out of the dialog and check your desktop.
Let me know if that resolves your cursor problem and then post a new log file. We have a couple of items to fix yet and I need a current one to finish up.

Cheers.

I have been running tonight, the system is stable as long as I do not run Netscape.

Hi andrewe_66. You still have mywebsearch hanging around. Let's go again.

Step #1

Start HijackThis and click the Scan button to perform a scan. Look for the following items and click in the checkbox in front of each item to select it:O8 - Extra context menu item: &Search - http://bar.mywebsearch.com/menusearch.html?p=ZNxdm762
Now close ALL open windows except HijackThis and click the Fix Checked button to finish the repair.

Step #2

Download rkfiles.zip and unzip it to its own permanent folder.

Important! Reboot in SAFE MODE !!

Start in Safe Mode Using the F8 method:
  • Restart the computer in Safe Mode.
  • As soon as BIOS is loaded begin tapping the F8 key until the Advanced Options menu appears.
  • Use the arrow keys to select the Safe Mode menu item.
  • Press the Enter key.
Locate the rkfiles.bat file and double-click it to run it. It will start scanning your computer and could take a little while so be patient. When the DOS window closes, reboot back to normal mode.

Post the contents of C:\log.txt back here in the next step and I will review it when it comes in.

Step #3

OK. Start HijackThis and perform a new scan. Use the Add Reply button to post your new log file and the log file from Step #2 back here along with details of any problems you encountered performing the above steps and I will review it when it comes in.

Hi
The System was unstable this morning. I did notice some things, the unstability seems to happen when the mouse pointer is at the sides of the screens. This may just be me thinking that but......... What kind of hijack is this?
Thanks once again.
Andrew

Hi andrewe_66. Let me ask a question. Do you have RadLight installed on this computer? If so, it will need to be removed. It is a dangerous spyware program that loads many other spyware programs and there is evidence of it in your latest information.

Cheers.
