Hello all, first time poster, so be gentle with me.
My System restore is not working.
Im on AOL and Windows xp.

I go to System restore,
click on a restore date,
then, when i get to the page that says Confirm restore point selection; i click "next"
and nothing happens.

Im useing System restore to reconnect to "dailbb".
I loose my "dailbb" connection about every seven to ten days, and as my System restore is now not working, i have to phone AOL and thay talk me through reconnecting. But im getting a bit sick of phoneing.

Anyone else having trouble with looseing "dailbb"

I thank you.

Hi shadowtaker9, and welcome to BleepingComputer.

System Restore will only restore system files, and some minor program files.

What it will restore, and what it won't.

* Restored
o Registry (note: some current values will persist)
o Profiles (local only—roaming user profiles not impacted by restore)
o WFP.dll cache
o IIS Metabase
o Files with extensions listed in the Monitored File Extensions list
* Not Restored
o DRM settings
o SAM hives (does not restore passwords)
o WPA settings (Windows authentication information is not restored)
o Contents of the My Documents folder(s)
o Specific directories/files listed in the Monitored File Extensions list
o Any file with an extension not listed in the Monitored File Extensions list
o Items listed in both Filesnottobackup and KeysnottoRestore (hklm->system->controlset001->control->backuprestore->filesnottobackup and keysnottorestore)
o User-created data stored in the user profile
o Contents of redirected folders

dc3 thanks.

When carphone warehouse took over AOL a few month back, you had (and still do) to connect to the internet, through what thay call "dailbb"
In control panal, under Network connections, you will see "dailbb".
When i could not get a connection to the internet; if i went to Network connections, "dailbb" would be missing.
So what i used to do is, system restore to an earlier date, and that got "dailbb" back, and i could then get on to the internet.
But now that system restore does not work, i have to phone AOL , for them to talk me through getting "dailbb" back manualy.
And this happens every 10 days or so.
So, you see, im getting a bit cheesed off to say the least.
So, the question still remains.
How to i get Systen restore working again?.

Thank you

Ps. Ill try the solutions in the link you posted. Thank you.
