I'm new to this forum, but not new to computers.

I am currently resurrecting a Win2K machine that had been repeatedly botnetted.

Yes, it would be easier to wipe the disk. No, it's not an option.

At this point, I'm cleaning up registry oddities and getting the salvaged software to work properly and getting various user data extracted from the registry and Windows' folders before reinstalling anything else of significance.

So I imagine my first questions will be at least moderately obscure. But those are more fun, right? :thumbsup:
