This will be short because I'm lost without a spell checker; and I don't see one here. I'm an old foggie and live in NE Washington State. I use Windows 2000 which I like, but wish I could find a magazine devoted to novices who are getting their feet wet with Linux.
I am not into the technical aspects at all. I can't even write a logon script. But I am good in screwing up. That is why I am subscribing to BleepingComputer.com.
Nearly all my computer use is for email and research into my family genealogy.

I hear you loud and clear. I've been using computers for a long time for lots of business type things and had an IT department when something went wrong. Now, I'm on my own and not only have to learn software packages on my own, but also figure out what's happening when I get into a fix.

I'm from Upstate NY and have lived here all my life. But I have traveled a great deal for my previous job and in your area of the world. I too, when I get this problem straighten out, will be working on both my husbands and my families trees. Looks to be quite an interesting adventure.

Firefox has a built-in spellchecker that works in forum posting. Many of us would be lost without it.
