When I start up my Asus Eee mini laptop, I get a message about

userinit.exe failed to initialize properly

Googling has told me that this is a virus, and the way to fix it is by booting from my Windows XP cd - so the problem is, with no CD drive on the 4G surf, how can I fix this virus???

Is driving me mad, as I've only had the computer a week... I know, should have installed AV sooner.
I cannot get anything at all on screen, even in safe mode.

Can anyone help?
