Hello,
following my PC
Dell XPS 420 / Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2,40GHz / Dual boot: XP Pro SP3 + Windows Vista® Familial Ed Premium SP1/ 2048 Mo: DDR2 800 MHz [2x1024] / nVidia GeForce 8800 GT 512 Mo / Sound: Sigmatel high definition audio codec integrated in the Intel chipset / HD: 320GB Serial ATA no RAID /Monitor: ViewSonic VP191b /

The dual boot is OK.
On Vista the sound is OK.
On XP Pro, I have no sound.
I have tried many drivers but always no sound.

Have you a solution?
I know, I can buy an audio card but now I look for a driver.

Thanks

Your high-definition audio is conflicting with XP SP3. I heard that this is a common problem. You'll need to download a KB update for the high definition audio. You'll need to download a modified UAA driver. I believe it is KB888111

Okay, let's just make sure it's not the HD audio problem (I had a similar problem when I had SP3).

Go to your device manager, and see if there are any drivers with exclamation marks (!)

I have two exclamation marks :
first: XPS MiniView (it corresponds to the small LCD screen (about 2 x 3in) integrated on the top of the chassis)
second: Sigmatel High Definition Codec (the source of my problem, I think)

Thanks for your help
