Hi yang47,

Welcome to the Forum.

You are currently using hijackthis from a Temp Directory. This can cause problems. Please create a directory on your C: drive.

To do this:
Click My Computer, then C:\
Right click in the right-hand panel.
In the menu that opens, click New>Folder.
That will create a folder named New Folder.
Rename it"HJT".

Download a new copy of Hijackthis (version 1.99.01) and unzip it into that directory. Run the program from that directory from now on.

It is essential that you follow these steps or certain important features of the program will not function correctly.

Click the "AddReply" button and post a new log in this thread and we'll be glad to assist you if we can.

Thank you.

Joe.

Hi yang47,

You appear to have removed a lot of stuff that appeared in your original post.

You may want to print these instructions, since you're closing your Web Browser.

* Go to Start | Run. Type services.msc in the slot and click OK
In the Services Window scroll down, double click and set each of the following services to "Disable"
(Microsoft Config)
(TBPSSvc)
(Win32)
Shut Services.

* Download and run the EliteToolbar Remover v.1.2.0:

*Open Hijackthis, take another scan and place a checkmark next to these entries.

R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - {8952A998-1E7E-4716-B23D-3DBE03910972} - C:\PROGRA~1\Toolbar\toolbar.dll
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {8952A998-1E7E-4716-B23D-3DBE03910972} - C:\PROGRA~1\Toolbar\toolbar.dll
O3 - Toolbar: &Search Toolbar - {339BB23F-A864-48C0-A59F-29EA915965EC} - C:\PROGRA~1\Toolbar\toolbar.dll
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [etbrun] C:\windows\system32\elitekad32.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [TBPS] C:\PROGRA~1\Toolbar\TBPS.exe
O18 - Protocol: tpro - {FF76A5DA-6158-4439-99FF-EDC1B3FE100C} - C:\PROGRA~1\Toolbar\toolbar.dll
O23 - Service: SVX Control Service (Microsoft Config) - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\System32\svxhost.exe" -netsvcs (file missing)
O23 - Service: WebSeach Toolbar support NT service (TBPSSvc) - Unknown owner - C:\PROGRA~1\Toolbar\TBPSSvc.exe
O23 - Service: Win32 USB2 Driver (Win32) - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\System32\sys32.exe" -netsvcs (file missing)

*Close all open Windows except Hijackthis and click on "fix Checked".

* Still in Highjackthis, Click Config | Misc Tools | Delete an NT Service Tab. In the dialogue box that opens enter (Microsoft Config) in the slot and click OK.

Now do the same with each of the following:
(TBPSSvc)
(Win32)

Close Hijackthis.

* Enable the ”Show Hidden Files and Folders” option:

Click Start.
Open My Computer.
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
Select the View Tab. Under the Hidden files and folders heading, select "Show hidden files and folders".
Uncheck: "Hide file extensions for known file types"
Uncheck: "Hide protected operating system files (recommended)"
Click Yes to confirm.
Click OK.

*Open Windows Explorer, navigate to and delete the following Files/Folders if present:
Do not be concerned if you can't find some of them as they may have already gone.

C:\windows\system32\elitekad32.exe <<< file
C:\PROGRAm Files\Toolbar\ <<< folder
C:\WINDOWS\System32\svxhost.exe <<< file
C:\WINDOWS\System32\sys32.exe <<< file

Reboot the Computer in normal mode, click the "AddReply" button and post a new Hijackthis log in this thread for further review and evaluation.

Joe.
