Hi All

I recently upgraded to Firefox 3. When I did that I completely removed all remnents of Firefox 2 on my computer, rebooted and installed the latest version. Ooops...then I forgot about all the plugins. It turned out that Flashplayer went funky on me after the upgrade. I couldn't view flash content on some websites when using FF3.

No problem, I grabbed the Flashplayer Uninstall utility and ran it. This removed flash from ALL browsers. I then rebooted the computer.

Next, I went to the Flashplayer install page with Firefox as the browser, downloaded the installer and ran it. The plugin for Firefox installed without a hitch. I even tested it and it was fine.

However, IE7 is a different story.

My problem is that I can't get the Flash 9 plugin to install for IE 7 - it works fine in Firefox and Opera, though.

I go to the page and it asks me about the ActiveX warning and if I want to install. I click yes. Then it shows a progress bar at the top, kind of like it's installing. However, it never completes. I left the page for 20 minutes and I never got the Installation success message.

I closed my browser, and went to the install page again. It then seemed to continue where it left off...just a progress bar.

When I tried to test if Flash was installed on IE....it was not. However, Shockwave Player was fine, but not Flash.

I tried the following:

- turning off the computer and trying again - same result
- checked my firewall and allowed all instances of Flashplayer - no dice
- turned off my antivirus
- I have full admin privelages

When I originally upgraded my computer to Vista from XP using a clean install, I was able to install Flashplayer on IE7 without a problem. This issue only occured after uninstalling Flash because of the corruption issue with FF3.

I have Windows Vista Home Premium, Service Pack 1, fully patched
Kaspersky Anti-virus 7
Zonealarm Pro
Spy Sweeper

Any thoughts? :flowers:
